Almost all of the resources are based upon the Color Accounting™ graphical system, and use the BaSIS Framework™ to explain key concepts. The Framework presents accounting holistically all on one page, with logical color-coding. Having both the Balance Sheet and Income Statement in one view has a number of advantages...
- the professor or the students can point to it during explanations (pointability)
- it is easier to help undo common confusions, such as the mixing up of cash and income
- using color instead of the terms debit and credit while learning makes the logic of debiting and crediting intuitive, with less need for rote memorization
- maximising speed and depth of uptake by combining the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning modalities
- the differences between balance sheet and income statement accounts and sub-accounts are easy to see and understand
- the language becomes visible: terms are more clearly presented, and defined as to what they are, and what they are not.
