Hilton College is a high school in South Africa. This is a series of 3 videos taken in 2014 of the students using Color Accounting in the classroom.
In this video, the students are using the BaSIS Board to record the financial activities of a business called Cherry Motors (you can see this in the Full Curriculum menu). |

Here the Accounting-101 students are demonstrating how they initially learn about the 5 key elements of the general ledger: Assets, Liabilities, Equity, eXpenses & Income/Revenue - ALEXI.
These Hilton students are demonstrating how the debits and credits (initially coded green and yellow) work by analyzing the transactions that affected the bank account.
This LEAP student is demonstrating the self-balancing aspect of 'double-entry' by using a butterfly metaphor for the two sides of the general ledger (debits and credits).
This activity is explained in the educator site. |
